Our uniforms are made with GOTS certified organic cotton fabric. Every fabric we use is independently tested for harmful substances at the strictest tier, the standard reserved for articles worn against the skin of babies and young children.

I started Positive Thread because I could not find a school uniform I felt good about putting on my child every day. Every decision we have made, from the fiber to the certification to the way the polo sits on small shoulders, has been made with that in mind. I am so glad you are here.

Not yet. We are building a list of recommended local embroidery partners and will share it soon. As we grow, we plan to work directly with schools to offer school-branded uniforms for the 2027-2028 school year.
Our pilot collection includes navy, white, red, and plaid, colors that work with many school uniform requirements. As we grow, we plan to add colors based on demand. If your school is not represented, join The First Class and let us know what you need.
Yes. Tops-only orders ship by the second week of August. Bottom-only orders ship late August.
Polos and sweatshirts ship by the second week of August 2026. Shorts and skort ship late August 2026. Orders that include bottoms ship on the later date so everything arrives together.
Our fabrics are. Every fabric we use is made at mills that hold both GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, and our organic cotton is produced under GOTS certification. We describe our garments as made with certified fabric rather than as certified garments, because our sewing partner does not yet hold chain certification. Read the full answer.
